De este modo, cuando cargué mi anuncio de Microsoft Vista en la imagen de torre de Jin Mao a flickr, yo esperaba que esto diera la vuelta en Internet. Apoyo el uso libre de imágenes, esto es por qué doy a mis imágenes casi siempre una licencia 'de Atribución-ShareAlike'. Me gustan mis quince minutos de la fama de vez en cuando, esto es por qué elijo esta licencia - esto dice que ‘Usted debe atribuir el trabajo en la manera especificada por el autor o licenciador’. Esto significa, corregirme si estoy equivocado, añada mi nombre maldito a ello. O conecte con mi imagen flickr. O a mi blog. ¡Sólo haga algo así que los invitados entienden quién pegó un tiro a la imagen maldita! ¿Y qué veo hoy? Mi imagen realmente dio la vuelta, fue hasta fijada en el gran sitio que Gizmodo es. ¿Pero qué hacen estos tipos? Ellos conectan con Shanghaiist, quién encontró la imagen en primer lugar. Ninguna relación a mi correo original, ninguna relación a mi imagen flickr original, no hasta mi nombre. Gizmodo hasta copió la broma de 1$ de mí. De este modo, mi foto logra ir en uno de los mejores guías de aparato en Internet, a un sitio Web donde usted pensaría que ellos realmente dan un maldito sobre licencias y copyright de Internet, pero no, nada. I like my fifteen minutes of fame now and then, this is why I choose this license - it says ‘You must attribute the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor’. My image did make the round, it was even posted on the great site that Gizmodo is. But what do these guys do? They link to Shanghaiist, who found the image in the first place. No link to my original post, no link to my original flickr image, not even my name. Gizmodo even copied the 1$ joke from me. So, my snapshot manages to go onto one of the best gadget guides in the internet, to a website where you’d think they actually give a damn about licenses and internet copyright, but no, nothing. This is not someone crying for being mentioned more often, I am writing this to remind people that ‘free’ content on the net should at least be linked fairly. So please, do give a damn about Creative Commons!
