En el cuadro encima de usted ven que finalmente conseguí una tarjeta de prensa para el SIFF, el 10mo Shanghai Festival de Película Internacional. ¡Pero qué un hussle! ¡Cuándo fui a Festival de Cannes hace dos años, ellos me pidieron un manojo de la materia que tuve que presentar allí - por el correo, imprimido! Pareció mucho más fácil para el SIFF - del sitio Web al menos - hasta que yo estuviera de pie delante de la mesa de acreditación y fuera pedido una tarjeta de prensa china. ¿Un qué? Conseguí uno alemán, pero no uno chino. Sabiendo la burocracia china, casi di el festival mentalmente, sabiendo que se necesitarían probablemente meses para conseguir el que. Pero gracias a Dios los tipos allí eran serenos, y después de una charla con el jefe incluso una pequeña presentación de mi trabajo anterior por el cual no pareció que ellos realmente se preocuparon ellos permitieron que yo me registrara de todos modos. ¡Afortunado yo! Después de que conseguí mi insignia me dirigí con dos tipos de Nueva York a la cosa de Conferencia Internacional en Pudong, donde asistimos a la rueda de prensa SIFF. Allí aprendí que una palabra no hace algo internacional ya que la conferencia entera estaba en el chino y sin traductores. Pero un periodista simpático me dijo de vez en cuando lo que ellos hablaban de mientras yo jugueteaba con mi cámara: Que ellos invitaran a Julia Roberts, pero que ellos no saben si ella realmente viene ya que ella dispara en este momento y otra materia. No, que interesante. Mañana las cosas se hacen más calientes cuando las estrellas finalmente se muestran. It seemed much easier for the SIFF - from the website at least - until I stood in front of the accreditation table and was asked for a chinese press card. A what? I got a german one, but not a chinese one. Knowing the chinese bureaucracy, I almost gave the festival mentally up, knowing that it would probably take months to get one. But thank god the guys there were cool, and after a small talk with the boss including a small presentation of my previous work that they really didn’t seem to care about they allowed me to register anyway. Lucky me! After I got my badge I headed with two guys from New York to the International Conference thing in Pudong, where we attended the SIFF press conference. There I learned that a word doesn’t make something international since the whole conference was in chinese and without translators. But a friendly journalist told me every once in a while what they were talking about while I was playing around with my camera: That they invited Julia Roberts but that they don’t know if she really comes since she is shooting at the moment and other stuff. Not that interesting. Tomorrow things get hotter when the stars finally show themselves. So let me get my sleep now and check back tomorrow for nude pictures of Sharon Stone walking the red carpet.
