The premiere of “Das diebische Rentier”.

“Das diebische Rentier” means “The thieving reindeer” and that’s what our 3D projection is all about: A reindeer that’s too lazy to pull the sleigh anymore and a Santa that gets mad angry. The premiere was yesterday at the Saint Johann market in Saarbrücken, where the local Christmas market is every year. Given that it was a Thursday – a workday – and it had rained just before, there will still a few people around watching the show. I think it will be much fuller on the weekend though. If you’re in or around Saarbrücken, don’t miss it! Related Images:We cannot display this gallery […]

Empire Avenue, a cool stock market simulation social network game.

Nowadays it’s rare that you miss out on something, thanks to the internet and its many sudden notification systems. The more stunned I was when I stumbled upon “Empire Avenue”, which is an awesome stock market simulation. The twist is, you are a stock, and so are you friends. Wikipedia explains it better than I could: “Players have their own portfolio in a virtual economy. The price of a player’s share depends on the ticker’s stock buying and selling, along with social networking activity. Players can choose their own ticker symbol. The players can have multiple investors, which will garner them a higher share price, and they can invest in other players. Players win Achievements for their actions, such as advertising and adding services such as Twitter. Players gain dividends from the other shares in players they invest in, which are counted as Credits. Social networks supported by Empire Avenue currently include Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, LinkedIn, Foursquare, Instagram, WordPress hosted blogs and the player’s own blog and RSS feeds.” Those mentioned achievements are lots of fun, and keep the game interesting. After a while, you don’t need to check in so often anymore, your stock will just grow in […]

Music Video: Yang Baby – “Kiss You Again”

I’ve been so busy in the last months that I even forgot to post this music “Kiss You Again” video which we shot. It was finished in the beginning of August, days before I flew to Japan to shoot Souls of Zen, so I completely lost track of everything due to the jetlag, shoot and unavailable internet connection in Japan. We shot it with two Canon 5D Mark II’s at a place called “Potato Beach” as well as in the Saarbrücken Music University. It took two days to shoot it and a couple more to edit it. Enjoy! Produced by Cedric Banini & m&r Kreativ GmbH Shot by Jakob Montrasio & Paul Mukian Directed by Banini & Montrasio & Mukian http://mrkreativ.de/ http://www.yang-baby.com/ Related Images:We cannot display this gallery […]

Standing while editing.

Since Monday, I’ve been working while standing. No more seat for me. There are various reasons for this, among the top ones are my (over-)weight as well as the back pain that I had in Japan from shooting handheld and with a six kilogram heavy steadistick so much. I’ve read about the benefits of working while standing some month ago and wondered all the time if I should try it out. The first day was the hardest one, my feet hurt badly at the end of it. So we went to Runners Point and bought me some new Nike shoes with the softest sole they had, some new foam-style with the classification 5.0. They worked wonders, and by Tuesday the pain was gone for the first six hours. The last hour started to get painful again, so I tried to sit down more often on Wednesday and Thursday. It worked just fine, and today my feet feel great again. I feel much more clear while working, somewhat sharper and faster, and I need much less coffee than before. Actually, I just drink one in the morning and one after lunch for the stomach, but that’s it. It’s all mineral water […]

Lumix LX5 Macro Function.

The Panasonic Lumix LX5 is a fantastic camera. Some weekend ago I tested the macro function and forgot to post it. Here it is. The Leica f/2.0 lens does a fantastic job with the depth of field blur and the colors look fantastic. I edited this with Lightroom 3 afterwards. Really happy with the camera so far, it’s small and super usable. Related Images:We cannot display this gallery […]
